Always start with a strand test on a pinch of hair before applying all over, and please read and follow the directions on the pamphlet that comes with your order carefully for best results.
Directions For Use:
For maximum coverage, separate hair into sections. Preferably on dry hair, go layer by layer applying a generous amount of product. You can use a dye brush to distribute evenly. Fully saturate the hair and leave on for 10-20 minutes. Rinse with water only.
For just a quick color boost, simply apply in the shower like a deep conditioning mask for approximately 10 minutes before rinsing with water only.
For gray blending, concentrate product over gray areas, including roots. The color is buildable, so you may need to apply for 30 minutes, or do a double application to get desired results. Gray coverage depends on the porosity of the hair, and not all grays will get full coverage or even partial coverage when using Modern Color.
Modern Color can be mixed and matched to create custom shades. We recommend mixing formulations in a bowl first, and always strand test our products prior to application.
Always rinse with just water and dry hair after application. Modern Color will start to fade after a few washes and can be re-applied as often as you would like to maintain vibrancy, repair damage, and nourish hair from scalp to ends. Modern Color is semi-permanent, and 100% damage-free.
Tips: For more vibrant tones of color - bleached or highlighted hair to start is recommended. Color results and longevity is dependent on the condition hair, intensity of the shade and frequency of use. For drastic color changes, consult with a salon professional.

One 5-minute application should last a fews weeks, gradually fading over time with regular shampoo. For higher-intensity, longer-lasting color, leave product on for approximately 10-15 minutes before rinsing and apply one to two times a week.

Modern Color's 3-IN-1 Color Refresh + Cleanse + Conditioner is buildable, meaning color is deposited onto the hair with each wash. If you are using the product to refresh professionally colored hair, use 1 – 2 times a week to refresh the color.
If you are starting with un-dyed hair, more consecutive and longer application times may be needed.
Keep up your desired look by re-applying 1 – 2 times a week to refresh the color. When you begin use of a traditional shampoo, the color will begin to fade.
